Here's a completely random literary thought: Elvis Presley as Dorian Gray.
There. I said it.
The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of my favorite Victorian novel (besides Sherlock Holmes). In it, young Dorian Gray gets his portrait painted, and his two male companions, think it's the most beautiful thing they've ever seen. It gets very Victorian-era homoerotic at times, with Dorian getting an ego about the whole thing, worrying he'll grow old and get ugly and marred, etc. But, lo and behold, he doesn't! Through incredible debauchery, sin, etc, the painting grows old and suffers while Dorian remains young and fairly evil. Magic!
